Through the Foundation for Movement Intelligence®  Senior Feldenkrais Instructor Ruthy Alon, Ph.D. developed 5 programs based on the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, Ph.D. bringing the whole person into better relationship

The focus is on natural movement that challenges the habitual patterns that lead to muscular and skeletal problems.  The movement processes help to develop postural integrity, flexibility and stability supporting physical comfort and strong bones.

This program is presented in weekly classes, workshops and certification program formats.

2. Walk for Life

This program was developed to promote ease in walking -- upgrading the quality and coordination whether taking a hike or strolling around the block.

Trekking poles are utilized in order to help you find the power in every step.

This course is taught in  classes and a workshop format. There is also a training program available.

Participants have found many benefits from including trekking poles in their daily walk including:  improving their posture, increasing their metabolism to promote weight loss, maintaining increased energy with less effort and strengthening through better organization.

It is excellent training for those that hike.

3. Chairs

The Chairs program was developed to eliminate strain and provide movement processes that create dynamic sitting.

Processes are utilized in this course to activate skeletal length and stability so as to maximize time spent sitting.   This course is also helpful for anyone who has trouble getting down on the floor.  It is often introduced throughout the various programs, and is available in a weekly class or workshop format.

4. Mindful Eating

In the Mindful Eating program you will be guided to observe your habits around eating and create strategies that better serve you.

Through imagery, and novel exploration in  approaching food you will discover things about your eating style that you can chose to transform. The art of chewing and its bio mechanics are experienced and re-trained to promote healthy eating habits.

Mindful Eating can be experienced in a class, workshop or individual format.

5. Solutions for Optimal Mobility

This class offers self care processes for some of the most common difficulties.

The movement sequences present effective strategies to repattern the neuro-muscular system. Training for problem-free movement engages the full body -- when one area carries more responsibility problems can arise in the neck, arms, back, legs or feet.

In this course short processes target these various areas to discover a biological optimism which is greater than the biomechanics as organic patterns are restored and the distributed effort impacts your whole being.

“It’s not just a method of body movement, but rather an awakening of resourcefulness and creativity.”

Through the Foundation of Movement Intelligence™ Ruthy Alon, Ph.D. developed 5 programs deeply rooted in the work of Moshe Feldenkrais: Bones for Life, Walk for Life, Chairs, Mindful Eating and Solutions.

These programs expand the range of flexibility, alignment, strength and balance and show how to integrate these elements in your daily life with optimal efficiency, maximal efficacy, overcoming physical dysfunctions by strengthening your sensory-motor awareness. This unique method of somatic learning is an invaluable tool in reconnecting us with our innate compass and are restorative through gentle, progressive, self-reliant and self-help strategies.

She was Educational Director of over 40 Feldenkrais Training programs worldwide prior to developing Bones for Life (BFL), her foundational program to support the growing issue of osteoporosis. In teaching BFL one semester at a Tel Aviv University every participant increased their bone density as measured on their wrist. She went on to develop Walk for Life using trekking poles in a particular manner to support the natural spiral of movement in every step and three other programs, each offering a different focus and progressive strategies for optimal living.

She is the author of Mindful Spontaneity which has been translated into 7 languages and won the book of the year prize for natural healing by the Jungian Society in Italy. She is the creator of the video Movement Nature Meant which can now be viewed on You Tube as well as numerous instructional videos. Her Movement Intelligence programs are taught worldwide by her Movement Intelligence Trainers.
