Classes will continue on Zoom in 2023. Limited on site sessions in the office are available.
Classes 2023
Our theme in these movement classes is Connection. Dynamic movement processes bring to our attention poor habitual patterns we created both pre-verbally and thru pain, injury and accidents. Using natural relational movements we “pre-exercised” embryologically, we have the opportunity to renew, open to more of our potential and create physical comfort and well being. Learn to move in new directions enhancing thinking, sensing and feeling to bring into daily living. Whether your habits are experienced as tension, poor posture, balance, pain, anxiety or lack of energy paying attention to how you move is the key to change. There are two class possibilities:

Qigong and Feldenkrais
Dates TBA
Guided by Brenda Sorkin, GCFP
Brenda@MovementDialogues.com or 704.650.7252
In 2002 I was certified by Chan Zhang to teach what I consider a more feminine qigong form called Dance of the Phoenix. I was interested in studying with a woman because all of my previous qigong forms had been developed by men.
This form has 5 sets of movements aimed at harmonizing energy, massaging your organs, centering your chakras and auras and breaking up negativity. The figure eight, a symbol of infinity, is prominently used in the movements.
You will receive written notes for each set at the end of class to help you with your practice so that you will have the full set by the end of the series. We will enhance the series by drawing from Feldenkrais and Bones for Life for our warm up, increasing the potential of the qigong sets.
Classes are small and can last from 1 to 1 ½ hours. A class can be started with 8 of your friends and consensus on day and time.
